About the role
The position of Assistant in Nursing is part of an integrated team working within an established and agreed framework attending to the personal needs of residents. You will be working closely with the clinical care workforce, residents, families and the registered nurses to deliver excellent care.
Successful candidates will bring a caring, positive attitude with a focus on ensuring residents are the centre of all you do.
Both casual and part time roles available.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Help with mobility, including transferring residents from bed to chair, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids safely.
* Support residents with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and assisting with special dietary needs.
* Assist with medication reminders and support residents in taking prescribed medications, under the guidance of a nurse.
* Work closely with the wider healthcare team to provide coordinated, patient-centered care
* Maintain a hygienic and safe environment for patients
* Sound knowledge of clinical and other aged care documentation.
* Respond to residents' requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
* Follow care plans as outlined by registered nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
* Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents' privacy, dignity, and personal preferences.
* Adhere to safety protocols, including infection control procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
About you:
* A relevant qualification (Certificate III or IV) or experience in aged care or community services.
* A strong passion for quality in aged care
* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Medication Competency trained (ideal but not essential)
