We are partnering with an international automotive OEM manufacturer. We are seeking an experienced Homologation & Compliance Engineer to support ADR certification activities for a major light vehicle program. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring vehicles meet all Australian regulatory requirements and achieve approval within program timelines.
About the Role
You will take ownership of end-to-end homologation activities, working across internal engineering teams, third-party converters, and regulatory bodies. This role requires strong ADR knowledge, hands-on ROVER experience, and the ability to manage complex compliance deliverables in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead ADR homologation activities across various vehicle programs
* Develop and manage homologation timing plans aligned to program milestones
* Review and validate compliance documentation (test reports, drawings, technical data)
* Liaise with third-party converters, test facilities, and internal stakeholders
* Identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions through to resolution
* Prepare and submit Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) documentation timely and accurately via ROVER
* Manage regulatory RFIs and ensure timely, accurate responses
* Support vehicle inspections, audits, and compliance assessments
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned
* Provide structured weekly status reporting to the Homologation Manager
Key Requirements
* 5+ years’ experience in automotive homologation and compliance
* Strong working knowledge of Australian Design Rules (ADR) and VTA processes
* ROVER system access (DITRDC login) – essential
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent)
* Proven stakeholder engagement across local and global teams
* High attention to detail with a structured, process-driven approach
