We see ourselves as partners with parents and students to provide a supporting and caring environment during the High School years.Find out more about our school by visiting www.leeming.wa.edu.au or Schools OnlineThe RoleLeeming Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and committed Teacher - Design and Technology to join their team.Holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and Certificate II in Automotive and or Certificate II in Mechanical Engineering or the willingness to obtain one would also be advantageous.The successful applicant will ideally be able to deliver an engaging and relevant curriculum in a range of Design and Technology contexts using a positive, student-focused approach whilst working with students across a range of ability levels. They should have a strong understanding of the requirements across Technologies to ensure students can reach their full potential in all aspects of the Technology and Design Process. The successful applicant should have the knowledge and understanding in the Western Australian Curriculum planning, delivery and assessment in lower and upper school courses. Experience in all Technologies concepts, including Woods, Metals and/or Digital Technology skills is desirable.Access to industry leading Trade Training facilities, provides scope for the successful applicant to develop students to an industry standard.Ideally, the successful applicant will be dynamic, dedicated and highly motivated educators with the ability to develop high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Strong knowledge and skills in being able to lead and embed whole-school (and learning area specific) literacy strategies, integrate innovative and engaging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into classroom learning, embed current Department of Education (DoE) Work Health and Safety assessments and practices and implement instructional strategies that develop analytical, inquiry and critical thinking skills is desired.The successful applicant should be highly committed, collaborative and possess a strong ability to work effectively with our dedicated team. They will ideally actively participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on their own teaching practice to enhance student engagement and to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching.
