About the role
This role is on a 10:4 Roster. The purpose of the HSEQ Manager is to provide advice and support to the Project Manager in driving improvements in the HSE performance during project delivery. The position also provides advice to support and maintain a safe and healthy workplace and for adherence to company policies and applicable laws, regulations and standards.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage all project staff in all matters concerning the prevention of accidents and occupational disease or injury and protection of the environment.
* Coordinate investigation of all accidents, incidents and defined near misses to ensure corrective actions address the root cause and ensure implementation of these actions
* Actively implement, review and improve UGL's Corporate HSSE management system
* Coaching and facilitating of our HSE culture
* Monitor and interpret relevant HSSE legislation, policies and regulations
* Assess safety in design requirements for all major projects
Your skills and experience:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in an HSEQ Manager position, preferably within the construction industry
* Degree or diploma qualified in an occupational safety and health related discipline
* Excellent knowledge of the OH&S, Environment and Workers Compensation legislation within Western Australia
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement safety management systems
* Thorough knowledge of AS 4801, ISO 9001/14001, ISO 31000
* External Auditor training (desirable, not essential)
* Cert IV in Training & Assessment
