**Who we are looking for?**
The Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) is looking for an Australian National University (ANU) student who is keen to gain experience in the integrated management of the water resources of the Murray-Darling Basin.
The Oscar Mamalai University Vacation Employment Program is a short-term paid position of up to six (6) weeks offered annually, designed to provide an opportunity for ANU students to gain work experience at the MDBA.
**We are particularly interested in students studying**:
- business, economics and regional development
- climate policy and climate adaption management
- engineering (civil/structural, environmental, mechanical/electrical, water)
- environmental and climate science
- GIS and spatial analysis
- mathematics, statistics, data analytics
- natural resource management
- science communication
- water resource modelling

**To be eligible for the Program you must**:
- Be an Australian Citizen.
- Be an ANU Student
- Be available to commence between November 2024 and February 2025
- Be available for up to 6 weeks.

Employment is at the APS2 classification, with a base salary of $60,153 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation.
**About Oscar Mamalai**
Oscar Mamalai was a highly valued staff member of the MDBA for twenty years until his unexpected passing in 2020.
Oscar commenced at the MDBA in 1999 and worked in a range of teams across the organisation, most recently working with the Water Resource Planning team as a Policy Officer.
A former ANU student with a passion for environmental law, the Oscar Mamalai University Vacation Employment Program was created in tribute to Oscar, who was highly valued as a colleague and friend to many.
