Salford College is seeking a Student Support Officer to join our team in Adelaide, SA.
About the Role
As a Student Support Officer, you will play a key role in providing administrative and student support services to our diverse student community. You’ll assist students with academic and personal matters, while also ensuring accurate records and smooth day-to-day operations in line with compliance and college procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Providing comprehensive support to our diverse student community by responding to inquiries and providing guidance on academic, personal, and other issues.
- Developing and implementing programs and initiatives to enhance the academic and personal success of our students.
- Collaborating with faculty and staff to identify and address the needs of students, and to ensure a positive learning experience for all.
- Supporting students in navigating academic challenges, including course selection, registration, and academic planning.
- Assisting students in identifying and accessing resources on campus, such as tutoring, counselling, and academic support services.
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to faculty and staff as needed.
- Facilitating communication between students, faculty, and staff to ensure a smooth and successful educational experience.
- Maintaining accurate records of student interactions and ensuring confidentiality of student information.
- Participating in training and professional development activities to stay up-to-date on best practices in student support.
- Contributing to the overall mission of Salford College by promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Requirements
- Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience in student support, administration, or a related role (preferred).
- Familiarity with student management systems (SMS) and learning management systems (LMS) (highly desirable).
- Understanding of how the international education sector and international colleges operate (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness to learn and be trained.
- Must have valid work authorisation in Australia.
