Do you believe in second chances, community, and walking alongside those who need it most?At The Salvation Army, we believe every young person deserves someone in their corner – and that someone could be you.About The RoleAs a Youth Support Worker in our Youth Justice Community Support Services (YJCSS) team, you’ll work hands-on with young people navigating the justice system, helping them reclaim control over their futures providing case support and outreach to young people within the Justice Programs. In partnership with the Youth Justice Department, families, schools, and community services, you’ll support the delivery of case plans designed to break cycles and build brighter paths.At The Salvation Army, we believe in truly supporting our staff to develop, grow and succeed. You will receive monthly supervision, reflective practice, and heaps of additional training to help you be the best Youth Worker. It’s a chance to be the difference.Reporting to the Youth Justice Client Services Coordinator, this is a permanent part-time postion 30.4 hours per week, based in either Shepparton OR Wodonga VIC.ConditionsCompensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 4.You will successfullyProvide personalised, strengths-based support to young people through TSA’s model of careHelp young people access education, housing, health services, employment, and cultural connectionsMentor young people to build life skills, confidence, and community – including after-hours supportWork closely with families, schools, courts, police, and service providers to advocate for young peopleKeep accurate case notes and contribute to service improvement through data and feedbackBuild genuine, trusting relationships that empower young people to reach their goalsChampion child safety and uphold TSA values in every interactionWhat You Will BringYou are someone who brings empathy, initiative, and resilience to everything you do.
