About the Role
We are seeking experienced Clinicians to join Veterans & Families Counselling Service.
In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health support to current and former Australian Defence Force members and their families. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver trauma-informed counselling services that support recovery, resilience, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
As an Clinician, you will:
* Deliver evidence-based assessment, formulation, and counselling services (individual, couple, and family)
* Conduct risk assessments, interventions, and referrals as required
* Develop and maintain confidential care plans and clinical documentation
* Review client progress and recommend extensions or alternative interventions where appropriate
* Participate in regular case reviews and clinical supervision
* Liaise with families, external providers, and key Open Arms/DVA stakeholders (with consent)
* Co-facilitate group programs and psychoeducation sessions as required
* Maintain professional registration and ongoing CPD
* Contribute to service improvement, outreach, and program evaluation activities
About You
You are a skilled, compassionate clinician with:
* Strong experience working with complex presentations and vulnerable clients
* A trauma-informed, client-centred approach
* Sound clinical judgement and the ability to manage risk calmly and effectively
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Confidence using client management systems and IT platforms
* High levels of integrity, emotional intelligence, and professionalism
Experience working with veterans, first responders, or similar cohorts will be highly regarded.
Mandatory Requirements
You must hold one of the following:
* Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration, or
* Social Worker with current AASW membership, or
* Master's-level Counselling qualification with registration as:
* PACFA Registered Clinical Counsellor, or
* ACA Level 3 or Level 4
You must also:
* Hold or be eligible to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Check or Working with Children Check
* Be an Australian Citizen (APS requirement)
* Be willing to undergo pre-employment screening and obtain a Baseline Security Clearance
