Job Overview
Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking an Utilities Engineering Manager to provide technical expertise and leadership to the expanding Water Utilities team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop growth, renewals and compliance strategies
* Lead operational improvement projects
* Provide day-to-day technical assistance, direction and leadership to the planning and compliance team
* Support employee performance and manage expectations successfully
* Establish a reputation for reliability and trust across stakeholders
* Manage expenditure and budgets in consultation with the team
Requirements
* Minimum of Queensland C class drivers' licence
* A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, planning or science or significant demonstrated experience in strategic planning and compliance
* Demonstrated leadership ability in a strategic planning and compliance role of more than 5 years preferably within Local Government
* Understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements pertinent to Local Government and management and operation of water and sewerage services
* Extensive knowledge of water and sewage treatment plant processes, network design and management, risk and asset management
* Proven highly developed managerial and supervisory skills including the use of contemporary techniques such as team building, quality assurance, total quality management and time management
* Highly developed communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
* Knowledge of project and contract management methodologies
