The Assistant Registrar, Collection Management System leads a small team within the Registration Department to manage the National Gallery's Collection Management System (EMu). This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of documentation for more than 155,000 works, including the world's largest collection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art.
Working in a fast paced environment with exhibitions, loans, and touring programs, the position is responsible for maintaining high standards in recordkeeping, supporting system upgrades, monitoring CMS performance, and delivering training to internal users.
The role provides expert advice on documentation standards, cataloguing, and reporting, contributing to informed decision making and aligning daily CMS operations with the Gallery's strategic objectives.
