**The Role** 
Air Lift Systems Program Office (ALSPO) has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced executive to join the team and perform an important and complex commercial management role.
Working with a high degree of independence, you will:
- Conduct complex procurement and commercial activities and use significant evaluative judgement to make recommendations of major significance through all procurement stages including planning, approaching the market, evaluation and contract management; 
- Develop and manage complex stakeholder relationships to facilitate cooperation; 
- Participate in sensitive and complex negotiations to broker agreements between conflicting agendas whilst maintaining key relationships to enhance business outcomes, and represent the views of the Commonwealth; 
- Ensuring high levels of compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, in particular the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013; 
- Maintain and update commercial, contracting and procurement records and generate reports on related activity to meet organisational compliance requirements and provide access to information; 
- Engage with risk, including the conduct of risk assessments and risk management activities.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. ALSPO delivers Ai Mobility capabilities to support combat, humanitarian, diplomatic and peace-keeping operations. Our platforms and projects provide Air Mobility capability to Air Force through the delivery of sustainment services for the C-130J Hercules and C-27J Spartan aircraft.

As the Commercial lead of acquisition, transition and sustainment of the Medium Air Lift and Training Systems contracts, you will plan, lead, manage and report on the management of complex and high value contracts. This will require collaboration across Air Force and Industry on strategic and business related contract activities.
You will:
- Have experience in developing commercial skills in acquisition and sustainment teams and supporting enterprise alignment to changes in Whole of Government practices; 
- Understand the strategic objectives of the organisation and develop work plans accordingly; 
- Have a proven ability to communicate with influence and the ability to nurture productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including industry partners; 
- Have experience in successfully delivering results within time restraints while balancing priorities; 
- Delegate tasks effectively; 
- Provide clear direction and articulate parameters; and 
- Give constructive and timely feedback in a manner that encourages learning and achieves any required resolution.
