In the role of Project Engineer, you will provide engineering input into design, construction, and maintenance activities within the business unit. You will supervise construction and/or maintenance activities within the business unit to ensure a high standard of quality, economy and safety are achieved.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Assist with project managing construction and maintenance projects within the business unit, including budgeting, programming, monitoring expenditure, controlling, and reviewing priorities.
• Assist with the preparation of estimates and tenders for commercial contracts.
• Perform the role of estimator for bids/offers undertaken by the Works Centre.
• Assist with procurement of road making materials and project services.
• Implement project management techniques and management systems to assist in enhancing project performance.
• Assist in managing project team resources to ensure delivery of construction and maintenance projects within budget and time constraints.
• Present technical training sessions on standard specifications for relevant project staff.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Civil Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Valid Queensland 'C' class driver's licence or equivalent.
• A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards will be required throughout the State.
