Wilderness School is a non-denominational day and boarding girl’s school educating students from Early Learning Centre through to Year 12. Since 1884, Wilderness School has prepared girls to be adventurous, courageous, responsible, and respectful learners and leaders. At Wilderness, we strive to enable each student to be the best that she can be.


Wilderness School is seeking a proactive and reliable Property and Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our beautiful campus.

Reporting to the Property and Facilities Manager, you will contribute to maintaining clean, safe and well-presented buildings and grounds across the campus and Parklands.

Key responsibilities include:

* Daily morning grounds clean-up across campus buildings, paths and grounds

* Unlocking and securing buildings, including alarm disarming (when required)

* Assisting with set up and pack down of school events (assemblies, House Days, Sports Day, examinations)

* General labouring, cleaning and routine maintenance tasks

* Waste collection and recycling management

* Relocation, removal and storage of furniture and equipment

* Supporting the Maintenance Team with planned and recurring maintenance works

* Assisting during major/critical incidents, including occasional after-hours attendance

This role requires a hands-on, practical approach and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment.


About You

You will bring:

* Demonstrated experience in facilities, maintenance or similar environments (desirable)

* A strong work ethic and pride in presenting grounds to a high standard

* The ability to work collaboratively within a small team

* Excellent organisational and time management skills

* Strong attention to detail

* Good communication skills and competent ICT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

* A demonstrated commitment to WHS and risk management practices

* Work Safety at Heights certification is highly desirable
