**About the Role**:
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Development and Building Certification Department including the preparation of compliance, audit and inspection program reports.
- Provide a high standard of customer service support to both internal (Council) and external (public) customers through all communication mediums.
- Maintain the Fire Safety Certificates Register
- Promptly and accurately register and record all correspondence and documentation into Council's electronic Records Management System.
- Assist in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of data management systems for the Development and Building Certification Department.
- Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity
- Contribute to the performance of Council: demonstrate professional conduct, make the best use of knowledge, experience and skills and be accountable for own decisions and actions
- Contribute to a safe workplace: comply with legislative and organisational requirements and be accountable for own decisions and actions
**About You**:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- High level office, secretarial and administration skills. Demonstrated ability to
- Excellent customer service philosophy allowing the position to deal effectively with a diverse range of clients and situations.
- Proven highly developed oral and written communication skills.
- Extensive working knowledge of all Windows and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to consistently produce quality work to agreed deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the principals of EEO and WHS.
- Current Class C drivers licence
- Role will be based in Jindabyne primarily, however will be required to come to Cooma and Bombala when required
**Desirable Criteria**:
- A working knowledge of fundamental town planning & construction industry processes and procedures.
- Basic working knowledge of EP&A Act, Local Government Act, Building Code of Australia & relevant regulations.
- An understanding of urban, rural and alpine development issues.
