The Core Emergency Medicine Training (Core EMT) is an essential component of the Rural Generalist (RG) Fellowship. It is mandatory for RG Fellowship candidates.

About Central Gippsland Health
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.
CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).
Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond.
We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments.
CGH provides a wide range of community-based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in-home services tailored to individual needs.
Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University\'s School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department
The Emergency Department facilities include 2 resus bays, 5 cubicles and 2 treatment rooms. The Emergency Department is supported by a range of Junior Medical Officers and Senior Medical Officers, FACEM as well as highly skilled nursing staff.
About the Role
The purpose of this position is to provide and support the effective and efficient delivery of emergency medical services for CGH as a clinical leader and teacher within the Emergency Department consistent with approved scope of practice and CGH emergency services capability.
Duties
Provide and oversee the provision of medical services in the Emergency Department.
Support the Nursing Unit Manager and the Director of Critical Care & Emergency Services to manage the emergency department efficiently and effectively to achieve financial and service delivery targets and objectives, including those relating to waiting times and length of stay.
Provide leadership and support for planning, organisation, coordination and evaluation of emergency department activities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with the Medical Board of Australia
General Registration with AHPRA or eligible for provisional or limited registration.
RACGP Registrar
Required supervision and support by FACEM or Senior Medical Officer
The Registrar receives a comprehensive and tailored educational experience that aligns with their curriculum and supports their professional growth over the 6 months
10 hours per fortnight of paid protected training time
