ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a detailed and passionate Design Assistant to join our Design team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for assisting the Designers with administrative and design activities to support the development of each collection from concept to final design. You will focus on ensuring product development meets specific timeframes and specifications while maintaining the V&W brand handwriting.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Trend & Material Research: Identify key trends, fabrics, and colors, providing seasonal analysis and insights.
* Product Development: Assist in the research and design of seasonal trims and technical sketches, working with vendors to track samples.
* Critical Path Management: Coordinate the critical path for each garment to ensure deadlines and range review dates are met.
* Technical Support: Attend fittings to assist with amendments, manage Illustrator updates, and maintain accurate technical data entry in AP21.
* Sample Coordination: Raise sampling orders for proto samples and SMS to ensure timely delivery.
* Range Visualisation: Create and maintain Range Boards for each collection in collaboration with the Merchandising team.
YOU WILL BRING:
* A Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in fashion design, textiles, or a similar field.
* 2+ years of Design Assistant experience, preferably within the fashion industry.
* Solid skills in Illustrator CAD, Google Workspace, and AP21.
* Excellent knowledge of garment construction, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
* A solid understanding of ethical and sustainable clothing production.
* A proactive, agile mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with internal teams and external vendors.
