About the Role

Policy, Programs and Engagement Division: Embark on a career with our Policy Programs and Engagement Division, a hub of excellence that drives national programs and portfolio priorities. We inform policies and manage external stakeholder relationships, fostering a collaborative network based on trust. This is your chance to be a pivotal force in an environment where policy, technology and health outcomes converge.

We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to head our Project Management Practice. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading the Program and Project Management Centre of Excellence (CoE), driving capability uplift, and embedding best practices across the Agency’s Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO).

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the design and implementation of the Project Management CoE
* Embed the Agency’s Project Portfolio Management Framework (PPMF) across programs and projects
* Provide expert guidance on project planning, business cases, financial estimation, and delivery approaches
* Drive capability uplift through coaching, training, and mentoring
* Manage project/program resourcing and workforce planning
* Ensure governance and reporting standards are met
* Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
* Contribute to continuous improvement and strategic planning

What You’ll Bring

* Proven leadership in program and project delivery within public sector, ideally in digital health or complex environments
* Expertise in project governance, assurance, and benefits realisation
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, Agile, P3O)

Eligibility

* Ability to obtain and maintain national police check.
* Australian Citizenship is a condition of eligibility.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a baseline security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required by the Agency.

Salary: $143,753 - $170,194 plus 15.4% superannuation
