Part-time up to 0.4 FTE fixed term until December 2026 with possibility of extension subject to funding for a dedicated and organised Year 3 Senior LecturerExciting opportunity to support the School of Rural Health Doctor of Medicine program located in Dubbo, NSW Base salary of $156,103 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation About the OpportunityThe School of Rural Health (SRH) has been delivering long term rural placements for The University of Sydney year 3 and 4 medical students in Orange and Dubbo for over 20 years. In 2022, The University of Sydney commenced delivery of its four-year graduate entry Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program in two streams; a Metropolitan stream based on the University's Camperdown campus in Sydney, and a Dubbo stream based at the School of Rural Health in Dubbo.
We have a position available for a Senior Lecturer (Education-Focused) - Year Three Coordinator who will undertake a range of duties related to the implementation of the curriculum as well as teaching and learning activities for Year Three in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program (Dubbo Stream). This position will have a supervision and leadership role in the Program including coordination and management of academic staff and tutors within the portfolio. The Year Three program is devoted to the following fields Child and Adolescent Health, Perinatal and Women's Health, Critical Care, Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and, the Doctor of Medicine Research Project block.
This position is located at Dubbo. Limited travel between rural and metropolitan sites is a requirement of this position and therefore a driver's license is required. Some out-of-hours work is also required of this role.
The Faculty of Medicine and Health is the largest faculty in the University and contains seven academic schools
Sydney Medical School is one of these and includes both metropolitan and rural Clinical Schools

including the School of Rural Health (Dubbo/Orange).

Your key responsibilities:
contribute to outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation and outcomescontribute to scholarship and apply clinical knowledge and expertise for improved student outcomesactively contribute to the research, education and administrative activities of the discipline/School/Facultyprovide academic oversight and leadership of the Year Four component of the Sydney Medical School Doctor of Medicine Program at Dubbolead and manage staff/tutorssupport pastoral care needs of students at the Clinical Schoolfulfill Governance and Compliance requirements of the Sydney Medical Program Doctor of Medicine and the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program/Murray Darling Medical Schools Program Parameterssupport the orientation and induction of students and staff to the area.
About you
bachelor of Medicine (MB)/Doctor of Medicine (MD)/Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institutionPhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other relevant higher academic or professional qualificationrecognition as a Fellow of the relevant Australasian medical specialist college or equivalent as recognised by Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA), e.g. FANZCA, FRACP, FACEM, FRACGP, FCICM, FRANZCOG, FRANZCP.current registration with AHPRA or equivalent professional bodies (where relevant)demonstrated applied understanding of contemporary clinical best-practiceacknowledged as playing a major role in the profession, for example by having a well-regarded leadership role in a clinical area of specialty and/or notable network of connections and strategic alliancesdemonstrated excellence in clinical or scholarly activities relevant to educational design and practicedemonstrated success in supporting the academic endeavour from curriculum design to engaging in research/scholarship and providing a student enabling environmentdeep and broad experience in effective clinical teaching and learning in an established Medical Programleadership experience in a team-teaching environment as well as leading education activities to successful outcomessignificant experience in supervising others and coordinating successful team activitiesdemonstrable understanding of and commitment to rural healtha broad knowledge of the Australian Healthcare systemCurrent Working with Children Check and National Police Check and drivers's licensecompliance with the Public Health (COVID-19 Vaccination of Health Care Workers) Order 2021.Sponsorship / work rights for Australia
