About the role
This hands‐on leadership role balances operational discipline with strategic growth, acting as the central coordinator for business operations, administration, and client delivery. Working closely with the Directors, you will implement robust systems and continuous improvement initiatives to elevate business performance and support a growing team of Building Certifiers and Consultants.
Key elements of the role
* Operations & Service Delivery: Lead daily operations, resource allocation, and workflow optimisation to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and meet all regulatory standards.
* Client & Business Growth: Act as a senior lead for client relationships while driving business growth through strategic tenders, proposals, and targeted marketing initiatives.
* People & Office Management: Oversee the full employee lifecycle—including recruitment, performance management, and mentoring—while managing day‐to‐day office administration and resources.
* Financial & Strategic Leadership: Partner with Directors to monitor financial performance and KPIs, ensuring operational activities align with the company's long‐term commercial goals.
* Compliance & Quality Systems: Champion a culture of continuous improvement by managing Quality Management Systems (QMS), OHS compliance, and business‐wide process enhancements.
About you
This position is ideal for a commercially minded leader who can manage complex client relationships and drive operational excellence while fostering a high‐performing, collaborative environment.
You bring
* Proven experience in an Operations Manager (or similar) role within a technical, consulting, or professional services environment.
* Strong commercial acumen, with demonstrated experience managing tenders, fee proposals, and client delivery.
* A proven track record of introducing structure, improving workflows, and driving operational efficiency in less structured environments.
* Confidence influencing senior stakeholders, with the ability to lead, challenge, identify gaps and drive process improvements through accountability.
* A proactive, autonomous approach with sound judgement and strong decision‐making capability.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in business administration, legal, property, construction management, or similar is highly desirable but not essential.
