About the Role
Payne Diesel Services, trading as Ausdraulics, is seeking a skilled and motivated Fitter and Turner with strong hydraulic and machining experience to join our team. This full‐time position offers a varied mix of workshop machining, hydraulic component overhauls, and on‐site work, supporting clients across the mining, marine, and civil sectors. We specialise in hydraulic component overhauls, precision machining, equipment maintenance, and fixed plant maintenance; and we are actively growing our in‐house manufacturing capability, including CNC production work.
What You'll Be Doing
* Machining and turning components on our CNC and conventional lathes
* Overhauling hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and components in our fully equipped workshop
* Line boring, fitting, and assembly of heavy plant and hydraulic systems
* Producing precision components and small manufacturing runs (e.g. pins and bushes)
* A mix of fixed and mobile plant maintenance
What We're Looking For
* Trade‐qualified Fitter and Turner / Fitter Machinist (or equivalent experience)
* Strong machining and turning skills, conventional and, ideally, CNC
* Solid knowledge of hydraulic, grease, and equipment systems
* CNC programming / CAM experience (e.g. Fusion 360) highly regarded
* Ability to work independently
* Experience with earthmoving equipment (advantageous)
* Experience on fixed plant: processing plants, crushing plants (advantageous)
* Solid commitment to safety protocols and high‐quality workmanship
