The Office of the Dean (Learning & Teaching) supports Griffith's largest and most diverse academic group to focus on developing programs, high quality educational experiences and innovative approaches to digital learning and teaching to prepare students for a changing world.
**Job Description**:
The Manager, Learning and Teaching (Design) supports the development and strategic management of the Group's Learning & Teaching Design Strategy through the leadership of the Group Learning and Teaching team while working with other key University partners, promoting collaborative design and development of student-centred learning resources.
Key responsibilities of this position include but not limited to:
- Coordinate support for quality program and course design by partnering with academics and leading the design team to use appropriate and emerging technologies to implement evidence-base strategies and resources when designing student-centred learning experiences.
- Lead and coordinate the Group Learning and Teaching (Design) team for the Arts, Education and Law Group under broad direction from the Dean (Learning & Teaching):
- Supervise, lead and develop staff, including allocation of their workload.
- Review, evaluate and promote training and staff development within the team.
- Manage and allocate assigned projects.
- Manage performance of staff.
- Provide expert advice to the Dean, (Learning & Teaching) contributing to the overall strategic and operational objectives of the Group including assessing and determining priority areas for learning & teaching projects that incorporate learning and teaching design approaches.
- _This is full-time, continuing position based at the Griffith University Mt Gravatt campus.
**Qualifications**:
In addition to the above, you will demonstrate:
- Proven track record of sustained and successful engagement with academic stakeholders;
- Demonstrated ability to balance operational and strategic objectives in the context of learning and teaching;
- Experience or potential to manage a team working across multiple campuses;
- Proficiency with a range of educational technologies, systems and platforms. Significant experience with Canvas and the Microsoft suite is highly desirable.
Additional Information
**Salary Range**
The base salary for a HEW Level 9 is in the range $117,320 - $121,515 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $137,265 - $142,173 per annum.
