About the Role We are seeking a Head Chef to help transform our menu and elevate our current offerings.
Our Head Chef will need to confidently oversee day‑to‑day kitchen operations, manage and motivate staff, and deliver consistent, high‑quality café and event.
You'll have the freedom to bring fresh ideas, develop creative menus, and shape the culinary direction of the venue.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage approx. 5 kitchen staff, working alongside front of house with professionalism and confidence
* Oversee daily food preparation, cooking, and service
* Develop creative, seasonal menus, sourcing local produce
* Maintain quality, portion control, and excellent presentation standards
* Manage stock, ordering, and supplier relationships
* Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
* Train, develop, and support kitchen team members
* Work closely with management to continuously improve the food offering
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a positive team culture
* Creative flair with a passion for developing new exciting dishes
* Ability to source and use local and seasonal produce, and create daily special dishes
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Strong understanding of food safety, costing, and kitchen systems
* Ability to thrive in a busy café environment

Who We Are We are an established Café and Events Centre, overlooking the serene Gold Coast natural landscape.
The business is in the process of being acquired, and under new management our vision is to grow the Events Centre to become a venue hosting corporate functions, weddings and personal events.
We require the expertise of a Head Chef to help us take our menu to a new level, servicing both the public visiting the Café, and hosting private events.
