Job Title:
Senior Middleware Database Administrator
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced database administrator to support our statewide systems.
The role involves installing, configuring, testing, optimising, implementing and commissioning server level software components needed to support software development and operational services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Software Component Management: Install, configure, test, optimise, implement and commission server level software components needed to support software development and operational services.
* Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports, documentation and recommendations on the operational performance of the software and database technologies.
* Relationship Building: Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships internally with other staff and externally to ensure the alignment and integration of operational services, processes and prioritisation of projects and business changes.
* Solution Design and Provision: Provide high level technical skills in the analysis of IT system issues and the formulation, design and provision of appropriate solutions and improvements, including the review of proposed software and infrastructure design solutions, providing advice on data models required to support solutions.
How You Will Be Assessed:
* Database Administration Experience: Demonstrated extensive hands-on database administration experience including patching, cloning, upgrades, migrations, troubleshooting, applications security & performance tuning (code review).
* Technical Expertise: Demonstrated ability to provide high level of technical expertise, system analysis to provide technical direction through solution design, standardisation, professional advice and support of enterprise infrastructure in a large customer focus organisation.
* Innovation and Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to gather insights and embrace new ideas and innovation to inform future practice.
* ITIL Service Management: Well-developed conceptual, analytical, research and problem-solving skills and ability to develop and promote ITIL Service Management processes primarily incident / problem / change / release management. (SFIA: USUP 4, PBMG 5, CHMG 5, RELM 5).
