About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Building Design to join our dedicated team at Newcastle Campus on a permanent, full-time basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality building design education to Certificate IV and Diploma students, supporting the development of their technical capabilities and ensuring a strong understanding of current industry standards and practices.
As a Teacher of Building Design, you will bring experience and confidence in utilising CAD software, particularly Revit and/or ArchiCAD. The ideal candidate will also bring demonstrated design experience in Residential Class 1 housing, Multi‑Dwelling Class 2 developments, and commercial or mixed‑use buildings.
About You
You will have:
Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Diploma of Building Design or Degree in Architecture or above/equivalent.
Advanced skills in CAD Design.
Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training. See the candidate support document (here) for details
Be prepared to continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.
Highly Regarded (but Not Essential)
Be a Registered Architect (NSW) (preferrable) or Registered Building Designer with Class 2, 3 Building Practitioner registration
