The Archdiocese of Hobart is the expression of the Catholic Church in Tasmania. The Church Office administers Corporate Services to Parishes, CatholicCare Tasmania, Loreto Community Housing, St Joseph Affordable Homes, and Catholic Development Fund including Financial Services, Property and Fleet, Marketing and Communications, ICT, People & Culture, and Governance Risk & Compliance. In addition, the Church Office provides administrative support to the various Pastoral Offices.

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for numbers and a knack for turning data into actionable insights? We are looking for a fulltime Finance Business Partner to join our team and play a key role in assisting financial performance and business success.

About the Role

As a Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with business unit leaders to provide financial guidance, solutions, and support strategic decision-making. The role supports the finance and payroll function of the Archdiocese of Hobart and Parishes, CatholicCare Tasmania, Loreto Community Housing, Catholic Development Fund Tasmania (CDF), and St Joseph Affordable Homes.

Key Responsibilities


• Partner with business units to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans


• Assistance and preparation of financial reports and models ensuring accuracy for presentation to appropriate bodies and/or submission to external agencies


• Support strategic initiatives with robust financial modelling and scenario planning


• Monitor and manage cash flow requirements


• Provide proactive financial advice to programs and services.


• Collaborate with the wider finance team to ensure accurate reporting and compliance

What We are Looking For


• Working towards or interested in completing CA or CPA qualifications


• Demonstrated experience in a finance business partnering or commercial finance role


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities


• Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, word, TechnologyOne (Desirable))


• A proactive, collaborative, and business-focused mindset


• Ability and willingness to undertake the relevant employee screening processes, including the provision of a National Police Criminal History Check satisfactory to

the Archdiocese of Hobart and registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania).
