Our client is a scaling Australian software company backed by a leading private equity firm. With strong recurring revenue and a clear mandate for growth and exit, the business is seeking a commercially focused, execution-driven Chief Executive Officer to lead its next phase.
About the Role
As CEO, you will work closely with the Board and private equity sponsors to scale the business, drive EBITDA growth, and prepare for a successful capital event. This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-backed technology business with an investor-aligned strategy and resources to accelerate performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute growth strategy aligned to PE value creation targets
* Lead the executive team and foster a high-performance, accountable culture
* Oversee commercial, operational, and financial performance to achieve scale
* Drive investor reporting, board engagement, and operational discipline
* Identify and execute on M&A and exit pathways (trade sale, secondary buyout, etc.)
What You Bring
* Proven experience as CEO, MD, or divisional GM in a SaaS or software business
* Minimum 8+ years' relevant leadership experience, with 5+ years in CEO/MD/GM roles within SaaS or software businesses
* Must bring a successful track record in a private equity-backed or investor-led environment.
* Must be able to demonstrate previous experience in leading a SaaS firm from plateau to exit in <4 years.
* Commercially driven leader with a deep understanding of value levers across go-to-market, customer retention, and recurring revenue—aligned to private equity value creation goals
* Strong financial acumen and confidence managing investor and board relationships
* Data-driven, decisive, and focused on scalable execution
Location: Sydney preferred, but Melbourne and Brisbane locations can be considered.
