About the Role:
You will be responsible for maintaining a highly visible security presence across a large campus-style site, supporting staff, contractors and visitors while ensuring the safety and integrity of the premises. This role offers a balanced mix of control room monitoring, active patrols, incident response and stakeholder engagement.
Your duties will include:
* Monitoring CCTV, access control and alarm systems
* Managing building access, issuing and amending access cards
* Conducting vehicle and foot patrols and lock-up procedures
* Responding to incidents, alarms and emergency situations
* Completing detailed incident and shift reports
* Supporting emergency response procedures and liaising with police, fire and other services
* Using professional communication and de-escalation techniques when managing incidents
What You’ll Bring:
* Australian Citizenship Permanent Resident with unrestricted Rights to Work in Australia
* Current ACT Security Licence with a Class 1A as a minimum
* Full Drivers Licence (required)
* Working with Vulnerable People (required or ability to obtain)
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Minimum 2+ years’ experience in the security industry
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Confidence using Microsoft Office and security reporting systems
* Professional presence with the ability to remain calm under pressure
Nice to Have:
* Experience with Gallagher access control systems
* Experience in government or high-security environments
* Control room experience
* Strong incident response background
* Experience working in environments with safeguarding responsibilities
