The office of the Hon Ed Husic MP has a great opportunity for someone with strong social media and communications capabilities to join our team as the ongoing fulltime Social Media and Communications Manager. The position is based in the Member's Electorate office in Plumpton NSW.

About the role
The Social Media and Communications Manager will be critical in building awareness and support for the work of the Federal Member, by producing and posting creative and engaging content.
You'll be part of a motivated team working hard to help our local community and put a spotlight on local and national issues.

Roles and responsibilities
* Taking the lead in producing, editing and posting creative, engaging content catered for the range of different social media the Member uses.
* Responding to media enquiries, identifying proactive media opportunities, assisting with organising media interviews (radio, print, TV), drafting speeches, talking points, opinion pieces and comment.
* Helping refresh and manage the Member's website, and regularly posting content, including media releases and community updates.
* Other duties as directed.
* There will also be regular travel to Canberra (primarily during parliamentary sittings) and there may be occasional travel interstate.
Selection Criteria
* Experience working in a similar role previously would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of social media platforms, with an ability to track engagement, identify trends and shape socials strategy accordingly.
* Creative design capabilities, able to confidently use Adobe or Canva design tools.
* Relationships with journalists, particularly the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery and NSW based media would be an advantage.
* Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
* Can take initiative and work within a team with little supervision.
* A willingness to work flexible hours, where required.
Employment conditions:
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement which include:
* The total remuneration package is up to $117,658 and is comprised of:
* A commencing salary between $88,160 and $89,793 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills
* On top of the commencing salary, anadditional allowance of $27,865 will be payable in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work and travel requirements.
* Relocation assistance, studies assistance and paid study leave may also be available (subject to eligibility requirements).
* An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.
