Technical sales support engineer

KSB is a leading global pump manufacturer with sales and service branches throughout Australia.

The Technical Sales Support Department is responsible for overseeing and support all estimating and internal sales functions. Working closely with other team members you will be responsible for providing a service to all external sales teams in their quest to always deliver professional advice to all KSB’s customers on a day-to-day basis.

Main responsibilities:

* Actively promote a safe work environment and support KSB safety guidelines and procedures.

* Have fundamental pump knowledge, including

o Hydraulics (e.g. duty points, NPSH requirements, parallel & series operation combined with variable speed operation, etc.)

o Understand liquid properties (Density, Viscosity, Specific Gravity, Vapor Pressure, TDS, TSS, pH, Conductivity)

o Knowledge about pump system and hydraulic gradients.

o Basic electric motor and diesel engine knowledge

* Pump selections, including price and submission of detailed quotations.

* Tender review and submissions.

* Understanding of commercial and financial concepts.

* Able to read, understand and implement copious amounts of customer specifications.

* Accurately and timeously completion of customer data sheets.

* Work on various enquiries simultaneously (Good time management)

* Attention to detail

* Work in a high-pressure environment

* Should be able to work as an individual and as part of a team.

* Good communication skills between Sales Dept

o Engineering Dept
o Finance Dept
o Factories
o Vendors + (customers)
* Providing technical advice for customers and external sales representatives.

To be successful in this role you will need the following attributes:

* Good verbal and written communications skills

* Ability to be both strategic and tactical, able to see the big picture, plan and organize effectively.

* Good negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

* Customer business and industry understanding.

* Experience working in large matrix organization.

* Strong networking skills.

* Excellent presentation and negotiation skills

* The ability to work unsupervised

* Strong work ethics and an understanding of corporate requirements
