At The Co-Learning Hub, we are dedicated to transforming math challenges into triumphs. We believe that every student has the potential to excel in mathematics, and our mission is to unlock that potential by understanding their unique strengths and building their confidence. Our expert tutors offer high-quality math support for students from Year 1 through to Year 12, including VCE Math Methods. With our small group classes - a maximum of 5 students per class - we provide personalised attention that helps each child thrive.
Role Description
This is a casual, on-site role for a Mathematics Tutor - Year 7 - Year 10, located in Mount Waverley, VIC. The primary responsibilities include providing mathematics tutoring to students in Years 7 to 10, both individually and in small groups. The tutor will develop personalised learning plans, and prepare them for tests and exams, all while developing them as a whole person, and teaching the soft skills required for success in this modern day. The role involves using various teaching methods to make learning engaging and effective, tracking students' progress through weekly homework, and providing feedback to students and parents.
This role may also involve assisting with our in-house resource creation.
Requirements
* Relevant degree or qualifications in Education/Teaching and Mathematics
* Must be able to travel to Mount Waverley, Victoria
* Pre-service teachers strongly encouraged to apply
* Strong proficiency in Mathematics
* Experience in tutoring and teaching practices
* Excellent communication skills
* Passion for education and supporting school students to flourish and thrive
* Prior teaching experience in a high school mathematics setting is highly desirable
* Working with Children Check
* Weekday after school hours / Weekend availability
