QinetiQ's IT organisation is evolving to provide the advanced technology and IT services that underpin our future global strategy and ambitions. We are now accepting applications for a Senior IT Security Analyst position, with flexibility to be based in Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, or Nowra.
Reporting to the CISO, the Senior IT Security Analyst will work closely with our IT and Security teams to provide specialist security analysis, advice, and technical expertise to help protect our assets from cyber threats.
The Senior IT Security Analyst will be responsible for:
1. Assisting and participating in penetration testing and red/blue team exercises;
2. Supporting IT operational teams with the design and implementation of new cybersecurity technologies;
3. Monitoring, investigating, and leading response activities to cybersecurity incidents;
4. Reporting to IT Management on key issues and task outcomes;
5. Assuming leadership responsibilities for the IT Security team when the Manager is away or on leave;
6. Conducting technical vulnerability assessments of systems to identify vulnerabilities and risks, and leading the tracking and remediation of discovered vulnerabilities;
7. Participating in QinetiQ's emerging global SOC.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience in a similar IT Security role or equivalent;
* Excellent problem-solving skills;
* Experience working with technologies such as:
o Microsoft M365/Azure Platforms;
o Microsoft Active Directory;
o SIEM;
o EDR/XDR Technologies;
o Vulnerability Management tools;
o Network fundamentals like TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
* An in-depth understanding of information and cyber security within operational IT environments.
While not essential, a tertiary qualification in computer science, cybersecurity, or information technology, along with certifications such as SANS, CISSP, CCSP, and/or CompTIA Security+, would be advantageous.
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 Australian Government Security Clearance.
