Registered Nurse Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cessnock Pharmacotherapy department. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, treatment and ongoing support to individuals with opioid use disorder.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage clinical documentation with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Support patient education through individualized care plans and group sessions.
* Make referrals to relevant services as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Supervise students or junior staff when required to share knowledge and expertise.
* Respond promptly to changes in patient status or emergencies, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
* Work within professional boundaries, ethical frameworks and culturally safe practices, particularly supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with demonstrated clinical competency.
* Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to undertake work responsibilities outside normal working hours and to travel when required.
* A non-judgemental and positive attitude, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Interest or experience in Drug & Alcohol Nursing, including harm minimisation principles, or a willingness to learn.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with community service providers.
* Commitment to culturally safe care, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and communities.
* Professionalism, critical thinking and patient advocacy, ensuring person-centred care.
* Flexibility to travel and work outside normal hours if required.
