About the Role
Join a thriving property and construction company known for delivering quality homes and outstanding service. We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Company Accountant to manage the financial operations and support the growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and general ledger
Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements and reports
Manage vendor payments and ensure timely invoice processing
Coordinate and process bi-weekly payroll, including field staff timesheets
Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts
Maintain financial records in compliance with regulations
Support project managers with job costing, budget tracking, and financial analysis
Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
Implement and improve internal financial controls and systems
Liaise with insurance companies, suppliers, and subcontractors as needed
Perform ad hoc accounting tasks as required
About You
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or property
Proficient with Xero; experience with Aroflo is a plus
Strong knowledge of payroll, A/R, A/P, and general bookkeeping
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Knowledge of job costing and construction billing is advantageous
