Overview
Our client is a well-established and market leading civil contractor. They are looking for an experienced and dedicated Estimator to join their growing business.
Our client provides services across multiple sectors including building construction, industrial, mining and resources, transport infrastructure, and environmental projects. You will contribute to the successful delivery of challenging projects.
Responsibilities
* Working on tenders
* Coordinating internal and external resources
* Preparation and submission of tenders
* Evaluate / review tender and estimating process for cost effectiveness
* Tender negotiations
* Coordinate tender handover to project team
* Prepare budgets based on tender submission
* Assess and price contract variation orders
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants
Projects
Types of projects include demolition, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation and rehabilitation. Typical values from $2.5 to $25m but can go up to $50m.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
* 5 – 10+ years' management experience on civil construction projects with a project value of $5m to $20m+
* Proven understanding of construction with a hands-on approach
* Effective problem solving abilities
* High level of commercial acumen
* High level of organisation and time management skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
