The
Exports and Veterinary Services Division (EVSD)
regulates the export of animal products and import of food products through the delivery of inspection and certification services including those related to live animal operations for both import and export.
The
Veterinary and Export Meat Branch (VEMB)
undertakes regulatory functions by providing inspection and certification for the export of meat, meat products and the import and export of live animals and reproductive material in order to meet importing country requirements and Australian legislative requirements.
Play a key role in Strategy & Governance within the Veterinary Export Meat Branch.

As an Administration Officer, the duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Functions:
ability to complete a range of administrative functions that may include travel administration, procurement, assisting and managing spreadsheets, financial management and other program-related tasks.
Financial Management:
provide expense and billing support for the branch, ensuring accuracy and using departmental systems to process payments, invoices and acquit expenses.
Attention to Detail and Problem Solving:
demonstrates sound judgement and analytical skills to identify issues, recommend solutions, and maintain high standards of accuracy.
Stakeholder Management and Engagement:
Work collaboratively within a high-performing team to build strong rapport, foster positive team dynamics, and deliver strong client service through proactive stakeholder engagement.
Mailbox Management:
Effectively respond to general enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate information and timely support to ensure resolution of requests.
Issue Management and Coordination:
contributing to the resolution of issues and assisting with coordination activities.
Corporate Contribution and Change Management:
Actively contribute to the department's corporate objectives and support change management initiatives, including staff and client engagement, consultation, and fostering a positive cultural shift.
Learning and Development Commitment:
Actively engage in ongoing learning and development activities to enhance skills and contribute to achieving personal, team, and program objectives.
Note:
This recruitment process will initially be used to fill
one vacancy on an ongoing basis
and the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.

Knowledge and experience
The successful applicants should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge or experience:
Communication:
ability to engage effectively with diverse internal and external audiences.
System Knowledge:
experience using the travel management and finance systems such as Corporate Travel Management (CTM), Concur, Technology One (FMIS).
Governance Understanding:
ability to understand or quickly learn corporate governance and assurance processes.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications.
