The East Kimberley

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated Senior Projects Officer to join our Office of the CEOTeam in Kununurra to deliver key strategic projects that advance the Shire's Economic Development Strategy and Communications Strategy. Working in collaboration with the Coordinator Communications and Public Relations and the Strategic Performance Advisor, you will lead and support initiatives that elevate the Shire's Brand, visibility, modernises its communications systems, strengthens advocacy and stakeholder engagement, and attracts public and private investment to the East Kimberley.

Your responsibilities will include to:

* Lead or support the delivery of key strategic projects identified in the Communications Strategy and Economic Development Strategy.
* Identify and leverage funding opportunities, grants and partnerships to support project implementation.
* Develop and implement high-impact advocacy and communication initiatives that promote the Shire's strategic priorities and achievements.
* Ensure consistent messaging and alignment with Shire brand and strategic objectives.
* Deliver innovative marketing and investment attraction campaigns that showcase the East Kimberley's opportunities and competitive advantages.
* Partner with key agencies, investors and local businesses to promote regional growth and collaboration.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to design and deliver engagement and communications strategies for major projects to ensure inclusivity, transparency and measurable outcomes.

Essential for this role is a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field, a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, a current unrestricted WA C Class Driver's Licence and National Police Clearance (within the last 6 months). You will need a strong understanding of economic development and regional growth drivers, proven experience implementing process improvement, large-scale communication and digital transformation initiatives, high level project management, research and analytical skills and expertise in brand management, content strategy and stakeholder engagement.
