Responsibilities include completing yearly mandatory competencies, unit-specific competencies identified by the Director/Designee, and Professional Practice Ladder requirements such as assuming responsibility as Charge Nurse, PI Activity and department initiatives.
It also includes communicating with the Director/Designee and coworkers, participating in staff development activities, and maintaining a current portfolio submitted annually by March 1st.
Routinely solicits and validates patient/family satisfaction, participates in peer review for the unit, and develops educational materials for staff, patients and family members.EducationAssociates Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN) is required.Bachelor's Nursing (BSN) is preferred.ExperienceAdvancement to RN II requires a minimum of 1872 hours of RN experience for full-time or part-time work (936 hours if BSN holder) and completion of a performance evaluation.Certification & LicensuresRN License is required.
Must be licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia (Multi-state via Nurse Licensure Compact or Single-state license valid in Virginia).
