About the Role
As the
Head of Teaching and Learning
, you will lead the design, delivery and evaluation of the school's professional learning strategy. You'll work closely with the Executive Team, Heads of Department, and teaching staff to embed evidence-based teaching practice, support instructional growth, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
This role is both strategic and hands-on—ideal for a leader who thrives on coaching, influencing and driving meaningful change in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a whole-school professional learning and
pedagogical
framework aligned to the school's strategic priorities
* Lead and mentor staff in evidence-informed instructional practice and contemporary pedagogy
* Oversee teacher accreditation processes, induction programs and ongoing capability development
* Analyse student learning data to inform professional learning needs and school improvement priorities
* Facilitate high-quality coaching, collaborative practice, and professional learning communities
* Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including tertiary institutions and sector bodies, to enhance learning outcomes
* Lead innovation in pedagogical practice across K–12
* Contribute to strategic planning and the overall academic culture of the school
About You
You will be a collaborative and respected educational leader with a proven ability to inspire teachers and build capacity across K–12 teams. You bring:
* Significant leadership experience in teaching, pedagogy, or instructional coaching
* Deep knowledge of evidence-based teaching practice and contemporary learning theory
* Strong influencing skills and the ability to coach, mentor and develop staff at all career stages
* Experience designing and delivering high-impact professional learning programs
* Exceptional communication, relationship-building and change-leadership capability
* Postgraduate qualifications (or working towards) in Education, Leadership, or a related field
