Are you an experienced IT professional ready to step up and support a thriving, locally owned business group? We're seeking a practical and motivated IT Systems Manager to ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of IT systems across diverse operations in Central Victoria. About the Role
As the IT Systems Manager, you will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with senior staff and external vendors to keep technology secure, reliable, and running efficiently. You'll handle hardware and software management, user support, network and site infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT process improvements. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across a variety of tasks and collaborating with colleagues and vendors to get results.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain the smooth operation of computer systems, applications, hardware, and software across multiple business units
* Manage IT asset procurement, record‑keeping, and lifecycle processes
* Develop and uphold IT policies and ensure compliance with operational and WHSE requirements
* Provide comprehensive IT support, covering both helpdesk and backend infrastructure duties
* Maintain robust network and site infrastructure, including security systems and access controls
* Liaise with external vendors for systems integration, software, and support services
* Assist with cybersecurity measures, threat detection, and staff awareness programs
* Assist in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts to ensure value for the business
* Support process improvements and help manage change across the business as needed
Key Selection Criteria
* Minimum 3 years' experience in an IT Manager or similar support role
* Demonstrated ability to bring structure, consistency, and reliability to evolving environments
* Hands‑on, proactive approach to managing people, systems, projects, and external vendors
* Experience in IT change management during implementations and upgrades
* Technical skills in Microsoft technologies (Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Intune, Exchange, Windows Servers/Clients), networking, cybersecurity (preferably including CrowdStrike), and Hyper‑V
* Strong organisational, communication, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills
* Willingness to travel between sites as required
* Relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in a computer‑related field and a valid driver's licence preferred
Desirable Extras
* Experience with MSSQL, NetSuite, C#, API integrations, Cisco Meraki, and IT project management
