Job Description The Role of the Business Development Director:
Reporting to the SBU Head, the Business Development Director will have overall P&L and business development responsibility for a number of major Banking accounts with the objective is to identify and build business with new revenue streams. Within this overall responsibility, key tasks will include:
Strategic Planning
* To define and develop the long-term strategic goals for Business Development, in line with overall strategic context of the organization.
* To identify new revenue-generation opportunities that enhance and promote organizations Mission and Vision Statements
Financial/Business Planning and Budgeting
* To analyze the progress of revenue-generation goals and make recommendations for adjustments/interventions as required
* To identify opportunities to bid for and acquire new projects
* To research and recommend grant and funding opportunities
* To participate in proposal preparation as needed
Sales, Marketing and Business Development
* To identify opportunities for both marketing and selling products and services.
* To actively close deals for new projects and initiatives.
Client Relationship Management
* To actively manage key relationships with existing and prospective clients.
* To work closely with partners, consultants and staff as needed on the delivery of services.

Qualifications Profile of the 'Ideal' Person:
The background of the "ideal" candidate is likely to include:
* Qualifications – degree level in a relevant subject, ideally supported by a second degree in business administration
* At least ten years experience in the Banking & Financial Services sector with a background in IT or related consulting activities
* Experienced in client management with cross disciplinary experience in business strategy, project management, product management and account management
* Good understanding of IT strategy, the related issues facing CIOs and their decision processes Successful track record of achieving significant growth in revenues by acquiring new accounts.
* The personal presence to act as an effective influencer and negotiator at the most senior levels of client management
* Creative and entrepreneurial in approach but focused on effective delivery and P&L management
* An effective communicator, able to provide excellent leadership and motivation to internal stakeholders and working effectively in accordance with the sales and delivery teams.
Overall, possessing the enthusiasm and ambition to contribute to the profitable growth of a fast moving and dynamic international organization
