Synopsis

Policy and Quality Officer - Early Years Education and Care

* Salary Range Band 6 $99,631 to $108,597 plus 12% Super (pro rata if part time)
* Full-time with part-time option of 0.6 EFT or greater by negotiation
* Located at Bubup Nairm Family and Children's Centre with frequent travel to Council's four other early education and care centres, flexible working arrangements possible

The City of Port Phillip is an inner‐city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programmes and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

Support quality and compliance across Council's five early years education and care services, driving excellence, safety and accountability while upholding our Community First values.

Develop and support the implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines, responding to recent legislative and regulatory changes in the sector.

Help build a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and integrity, working alongside passionate teams to make a real difference for children and families and empower educators to deliver their best work.

Duties

* Develop and support the implementation of policies, procedures, compliance and quality systems that keep early years services compliant, confident and future focused.
* Partner with leadership, educational leaders, and educators to identify risks, solve challenges and lift quality across services.
* Lead audits, attestations and performance reporting that turn data into meaningful improvement.
* Build practical tools, guidance and workflows that make compliance clear, achievable and embedded in daily practice.
* Champion Council's values by fostering collaboration, integrity and continuous improvement for children and families.

Skills and Experience

* Degree or diploma in early childhood education, education, social science, public policy or a related field
* Experience in working within education and care regulatory frameworks, quality improvement environments or compliance focused roles
* Experience in policy development, auditing, service evaluation or governance roles within early childhood services or similar regulated settings
* Current Victorian driver's licence
