The role-Early Childhood Teacher
Lady Gowrie is seeking Early Childhood Teachers for our Bowen Road, Penna Road, Kingston, Integrated Centre (also located in South Hobart),Battery point & Midway Point Long Day Care Services. This is your opportunity to work closely with our Education and Care Practitioners demonstrating and mentoring in pedagogy and practice and work in ratio.
* Part time, minimum 36 hours per week
* Long Day Care
As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will:
* Work closely with our educators and develop programs tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
* Ensure compliance as a mandated reporter in accordance with the services Child Protection policy and procedures.
* Identifying and responding to children at risk
* Promote positive, comforting, and nurturing relationships with children.
* Be proactive in ensuring currency in best early childhood practice.
* Providing experiences to support children's play and learning.
* Listening to children, including interpreting words and actions to determine a child's individual needs.
* Using storytelling, drama, music and discussion to develop language and vocabulary.
* Provide care for children with a focus on ensuring health, safety and wellbeing
What you'll bring:
* Bachelor's degree in early childhood education (ACECQA approved)
* A sound understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work collaboratively in a team
* Accredited Child Protection Training
* Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, emergency Asthma management, and CPR (HLTAID012)
* A current Tasmanian Registration for Working with Vulnerable People (child-related activity – childcare services)
* A recent Police Check
