Senior Facilities Engineer – Australia
Company: Boeing Aerospace Operations
Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for a Facilities Engineer to join our team in Alice Springs, Australia. This position will lead all aspects of facility operations to drive high reliability and continuously implement industry‑leading O&M methodologies and technologies. The role focuses on facility infrastructure such as resilient power distribution, cooling systems, facility management/industrial control systems, etc. It does not include responsibilities for data management or data center rack operations. This is a long‑term assignment to Australia, subject to business conditions and individual performance. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international relocation will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, implement, or improve electrical and mechanical equipment, facilities, components, or systems for data center operations.
* Provide organizational leadership and technical oversight to facility operations and maintenance teams.
* Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by coordinating installation, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, and testing activities.
* Engage in final commissioning of facility to ensure required capabilities meet customer requirements.
* Maintain facility electrical and mechanical infrastructure in a newly constructed data center.
* Write reports and compile data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
* Consult with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
* Perform a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer‑assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
* Prepare specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
* Estimate material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
* Work with a variety of technicians.
* Account for maintaining budget, identifying, justifying, and implementing capital expenditures.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)
* 3+ years’ experience as an engineer in operation and/or maintenance.
* Proven leader of Facility O&M teams.
* Ability to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) polygraph pre‑start.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience)
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Experience working with U.S. Government customer.
* Uptime Institute Certification.
* Adjudicated Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) polygraph.

* Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country.
* Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable.
* Employment is contingent on the candidate’s ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country.
* Because the candidate selected will be expected to go on an international assignment, the offer will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned. These contingencies also apply to any/family members who may be relocating with the candidate.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $120,000 - $165,000 for domestic base. Fringe benefits will be applicable upon start date in Australia.
