Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chemical Professional to join our team. This is a senior role that involves the control of hazardous liquids from customers to final disposal locations.
The successful candidate will ensure waste is assessed, packaged, transported, and disposed of safely and in accordance with all regulations and permits.
This role will require you to travel to customer sites throughout NSW to assess and identify liquid hazardous waste and provide technical assistance.
You will also be accountable for offering technical support and guidance for the acceptance, treatment, and storage of liquid and technical waste.
* Developing and supervising treatability trials, selecting treatment methods and verifying sustainability, ensuring waste is treated sustainably
* Ensuring quality of paperwork, documentation and reporting, meeting company standards and timelines
* Ensuring safe use of chemical transport and management equipment
Responsibilities
As a Senior Chemical Professional, your primary responsibilities will include:
* Providing technical support and guidance for the acceptance, treatment, and storage of liquid and technical waste
* Day-to-day guidance to site managers, customers, sales teams, and operators on liquid waste assessment, sampling, verification, labelling, handling and treatment
* Developing and supervising treatability trials, selecting treatment methods and verifying sustainability, ensuring waste is treated sustainably
* Ensuring quality of paperwork, documentation and reporting, meeting company standards and timelines
* Ensuring safe use of chemical transport and management equipment
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* A degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Sound experience working with waste or hazardous chemicals
* Previous experience in wastewater treatment facilities or chemical fixation and stabilisation facilities
* Field sampling or laboratory experience
* Sound knowledge in operating/calibrating ICP and Laboratory instruments
* Experience with risk assessments and work instructions
* Meticulous record-keeping skills within a tightly regulated controlled waste environment
* Knowledge and understanding of chemicals and applicable legislation relating to their use, storage and disposal
