Metropolitan Special Programs Centre (MSPC) – Long Bay Correctional Complex



Location: Metropolitan Special Programs Centre (MSPC) – Long Bay Correctional Complex
Employment type: Temporary Full time (up to 12 Months)

Salary:

o Psychologist: $79,592 – $118,316pa.
o Specialist Psychologist: $114,016 - $139,824pa
o Plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

What you will do



As a psychologist / Specialist Psychologist, you will:

* Conduct psychological assessments and deliver evidence‑based interventions for individuals in custody.
* Work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team to develop targeted treatment plans, behaviour management strategies, and case plans.
* Provide expert consultation to staff on offender mental health, behavioural risk, and the management of sexual and violent offenders.
* Offer professional advice and, where required, prepare reports for statutory authorities such as the State Parole Authority, Serious Offenders Review Council, and the Mental Health Review Tribunal.
* Ensure accurate, ethical, and compliant documentation within the Offender Integrated Management System (OIMS) and psychology files for all individuals receiving services.
* Uphold high standards of ethical and evidence‑based practice in all psychological interventions and professional activities.



What we’re looking for



* A dedicated and ethical psychologist who is passionate about delivering high-quality mental health and behavioural services.
* Experience in mental health, cognitive impairment, risk assessment, and behaviour management in complex environments.
* Understanding of contemporary correctional principles and evidence-based intervention strategies.





Essential Requirements



* Minimum four-year accredited qualification in psychology with full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Applications from provisionally registered psychologists may be considered.
* Current driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout NSW.
