About The Role
Reporting to the
Senior Surveyor
, you will ensure accurate measurement, mapping, and control across our underground and surface mining operations. This role is essential in supporting safe mining practices, maintaining statutory compliance, and enabling operational efficiency.
You'll work closely with production, geology, engineering, and contractor teams, delivering high‑quality survey services and contributing directly to operational success.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Maintaining survey control networks for surface and underground operations.
* Completing detailed surveys, updating mine models, and ensuring accurate plans and service locations.
* Supporting development and design control, ensuring compliance with site plans and regulatory requirements.
* Completing survey calculations, mine model updates, and end‑of‑month reporting.
* Assisting with UAV/drone survey activities and aerial survey database development.
* Participating in safety processes including hazard ID, JSEAs, workplace inspections, and incident reporting.
* Providing technical support across departments while upholding WHS legislation and the Survey Code of Practice.
* Contributing to system improvements and mentoring junior survey staff.
About You
We're seeking surveyors who bring initiative, accuracy, and strong safety awareness.
You Will Ideally Bring
* A Tertiary Survey Qualification (essential).
* Minimum 18 months experience in underground and/or open‑pit survey environments.
* Strong planning, organisation, and problem‑solving capability.
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
* Strong computer literacy and confidence with survey software.
* WA C‑Class Driver's Licence and a valid National Police Clearance.
Desirable
* Experience with Leica, Trimble, Geosight CMS and drone technology.
* Remote Pilot Licence and/or Authorised Mine Surveyor (or eligibility).
