Are you an experienced finance professional ready to take the next step in your career? Just Better Care is seeking a talented and driven Finance Manager to join our team on a full-time basis.

Across Australia, Just Better Care provides in-home aged care and disability support services, supporting people to live independently.

As a key member of our management team, you will lead our finance function end-to-end, overseeing financial reporting, compliance, and a dedicated finance team, while partnering directly with the Franchise Owner to shape the financial direction of the business.

Job Purpose

The Finance Manager will oversee all aspects of the finance function, leading and developing the finance team while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, robust internal controls, and full compliance with statutory obligations. This role partners directly with the Franchise Owner as a trusted financial advisor, providing meaningful analysis and insights to support sound business decisions.

Main Duties

* Lead, manage and develop the finance team including Finance Officers and administration support staff
* Prepare and present monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) to the Franchise Owner
* Deliver quarterly trial balance submissions to JBCA and prepare annual financial statements
* Lead the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts and variance analysis
* Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger functions
* Oversee the financial management of Home Care Packages (HCP) including billing, reconciliation and annual reporting
* Monitor the organisation's cash position and prepare regular cash flow forecasts
* Ensure accurate and timely completion of all statutory obligations including GST (IAS/BAS), PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and FBT
* Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, advising management on impacts and required actions
* Partner with the Franchise Owner on financial strategy, business planning and growth initiatives
* Identify and recommend cost reduction, efficiency improvement and margin optimisation opportunities

Selection Criteria

* Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (CPA or CA qualification highly regarded)
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance management role
* Demonstrated experience leading and developing a finance team
* Sound knowledge of accounting principles, regulations and Australian tax obligations
* Proficiency in MYOB and/or integrated financial software applications and Microsoft Office
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work autonomously
* Current and clear Criminal Record Check
* Experience in the aged care, home care or community services sector
* Knowledge of Home Care Package (HCP) billing and compliance requirements
* Familiarity with care management software tools
