Production Cleaner Job Description
The Production Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe production environment. This role ensures all equipment, machinery and work areas are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with company standards and food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Clean and sanitize production equipment, floors, walls and surfaces following cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Disassemble and reassemble machinery for deep cleaning as required.
* Safely handle and use industrial cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
* Follow all food safety, quality and hygiene procedures (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
* Properly dispose of waste and recyclable materials.
Skills And Qualifications
* Previous experience in industrial or food production cleaning is preferred.
* Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
* Understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards (especially in food environments).
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
* Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team.
* Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks (e.g., lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
* Good communication and time management skills.
Work Environment
* Exposure to wet or slippery floors, strong cleaning agents and cold environments depending on the area cleaned.
* Shift work may be required, including late evenings, weekends or public holidays.
