What is the role?

The AFP’s corporate enabling services (human resources, finance, procurement, strategy, policy, governance, property, and exhibits) are delivered through a tiered operating model. Service standards are set by the COO portfolio, with generalist support provided via a centralised helpdesk (Tier 1). Command-specific services are delivered by co-located multi-disciplinary CCSUs (Tier 2). Strategic and specialist services are provided by centres of excellence (Tier 3).

This role leads a high-performing CCSU to deliver diverse corporate services at Tier 2.

As a Corporate Business Partner (CBP), you lead by example, embodying AFP’s values and inclusive culture. You are adaptable, proactive, and apply an intelligent, problem-solving approach to your work. You provide strategic and practical support to CCSU services, managing resources effectively to meet command priorities.

You are highly regarded for your leadership skills, managing and motivating a team of professional, engaged staff who support frontline operations. As an effective communicator and change agent, you contribute to achieving outcomes aligned with the AFP Code of Conduct, governance standards, and regulatory frameworks.

As an AFP Executive Level Leader, you work under broad direction from senior executives. You shape the AFP’s strategic direction through your team’s professional services, aligning with the AFP Corporate Plan, Core Leadership Continuum, and your Charter of Performance.

You possess in-depth knowledge of the AFP’s business (or the ability to develop it) and understand how corporate functions impact operations.

You are motivated, professional, and client-focused, with a forward-thinking approach to corporate excellence. You have strong relationship management skills, providing insightful, persuasive, and trusted advice to diverse stakeholders.

You leverage partnerships locally, nationally, and globally to share challenges and develop sustainable solutions. You balance strategic decision-making with sound judgment, innovation, and a willingness to explore different approaches.

What will you do?

As a Corporate Business Partner, you will lead and manage a CCSU to deliver timely, high-quality, strategic advice and support. You will contribute to the AFP’s broader network and enhance its corporate capacity and capability in support of AFP operations.

Your responsibilities include:

* Leading an agile, multi-disciplinary team providing corporate and operational support aligned with AFP’s strategic direction, fostering a customer-centric, inclusive, and diverse workplace culture.
* Building and maintaining corporate capability, efficiency, and productivity to deliver contemporary, integrated services in a complex environment.
* Collaborating with COO leadership and centres of excellence to ensure high-quality, relevant, and timely services aligned with enterprise strategy and command-specific needs.
* Planning and managing CCSU resources and workflows to uphold standards and respond to organizational priorities.
* Driving innovation and managing risks associated with new business approaches.
* Overseeing strategic, business, and project activities of the CCSU.
* Evaluating policies and business improvements, and implementing enhanced procedures.
