About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced payroll expert to champion compliance, reporting, and analysis across our payroll function.
You will be instrumental in ensuring the precise interpretation and application of Enterprise Agreements / Awards / NES within payroll systems and processes. Embedded within the Human Resources team, you'll collaborate closely with Payroll, Operations, HR and Finance to drive compliance and enhance operational efficiency across the business.
This role will complete hands on payroll tasks including month end reporting and end of financial year process.

Responsibilities include,
* End-to-end payroll processing - monthly pay cycle of 150 employees
* Managing payroll adjustments, allowances, deductions, and terminations
* Payroll reconciliations, reporting, and general ledger alignment
* Payroll Tax and WorkCover submissions
* Interpret and apply Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and employment contracts to payroll processes.
* Analyse payroll data to identify risks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Provide expert-level support in payroll configuration and reporting.
* Develop and maintain complex models, using data visualisation tools for payroll analysis, auditing, compliance, and tracking.
* Collaborate with HR and Operations teams to ensure alignment of payroll practices with industrial instruments.
* Provide expert advice on compliance issues, and legislative changes.
You will bring
* A relevant tertiary qualification, preference for Certificate IV / Diploma Payroll or Bachelor of Accounting / Finance.
* Strong ability to interpret Industry Awards, Common Law, and Enterprise Agreements.
* Deep technical knowledge of payroll compliance, including superannuation, taxation, and legislative requirements.
* Previous experience working with Human Force or Access Micropay an advantage, not essential.
* Strong reconciliation skills including payroll recs and general ledger alignment
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, advantageous to have experience in moving Excel reports and analysis into data visualisation tools (eg. Power BI)
* The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and handle sensitive payroll data with professionalism and integrity.
